CCGrass is proud to have “Preferred” status with the 3 big global field sports – football, hockey and rugby. This means we are able to offer a comprehensive range of tested systems, for all levels of each sport.
Here are some interesting facts.
CCGrass tested products by sport
- Football – 24 different turf types with over 150 systems tested to FIFA Quality and Quality Pro standards and a further 140 tests for line marking colours.
- Hockey – 10 different turf types with 20 system tests, including 6 FIH Global products
- Rugby – 10 different turf types with 24 system tests to World Rugby Reg 22.
- Multi-sport choice – 33 tests cover more than one sport.
A choice of shock pads
At CCGrass we recognise that the artificial grass is only one component in the turf system, which is why we offer many product tests with shockpads.
- Football – choice of systems from 12 different shock pad suppliers
- Hockey – a choice from 9
- Rugby – a choice from 9
Heaviest and lightest turf
We believe in giving choice and one way to measure this is in end yarn weight.
- Our Nature D3 40 football turf is the lightest tested product at 930g per sqm, which meets FIFA Quality with an insitu shockpad.
- Our Ultimate X 60 football turf is the heaviest tested product at 2958g per sqm, which meets FIFA Quality Pro with no pad, and EPDM infill.
Why such a wide choice?
Whilst sports’ governing bodies have set performance standards, these are often quite open and relatively easy to achieve in a variety of ways. For example, FIFA Quality standards can be met with a longer pile (50-60mm) and no shock pad, or a shorter pile (40-50mm) with a shock pad; whilst Hockey and rugby both need shock pads to pass their relevant tests.
There are 3 drivers to differentiate this choice, further.
- Manufacturer innovation: Here, a yarn shape, weight and type of polymer can create one variation, whilst the pile height and number of stitches can add further options.
- Specifier requirements: In some markets, consultants will state specific criteria, such as pile weight, height and dtex. This may be a geographical preference.
- Contractor’s preference: Here, the installer chooses, and may want products based just on lowest price of a product that passes relevant tests.
What this means, is that at CCGrass we have a turf system to meet every requirement.
