About the project:
Henley RFC required a resurface of their artificial rugby pitch in the summer of 2020. Specialist contractors, A S Sports Systems, began by lifting the old grass and inspecting the existing shock pad. However, some remedial work was all that was needed to have it ready for the new surface to be laid. The club was after something a little different and colourful, so they decided to go for a blue surface, and to add Rugby X pitch markings to make this the first permanent Rugby X pitch.
About the surface:
The Max 60-15PU is made from C8 polymer, which means that it is stronger, more resilient, and softer than other artificial grass fibres, making it excellent for rugby use. Apart from the exciting colour, this really is an advanced surface, with a stronger PU backing, which will benefit the current and next generation of children and adults that play on it, even more than the original surface did.
What help did CCGrass give to the project:
CCGrass attended the site to agree on the work that was necessary to upgrade the surface to a World Rugby approved system. During the install, CCGrass UK CEO Bryn Lee visited the site and worked closely with the installation team to ensure a first-class pitch for the club. On completion, Bryn attended the opening and continues to support the club through marketing opportunities and the occasional site visit.
