About the project: St Mary’s Catholic High School, in Leyland, was looking to replace their old artificial grass surface and chose Tony Patterson Sports Ground to build their pitch. Works began at the beginning of March, and were completed May 2022 with the base of the pitch, originally laid by En Tout Cas, completely rebuilt. CCGrass were delighted to be chosen to supply our Stemgrass EX2 60 turf to the school, which is the perfect option for both football and rugby.

“Most artificial grass 3G systems consist of straight fibres. The Stemgrass EX2 60 turf also contains a curly yarn within the longer fibres. This acts like roots in natural grass, supporting the blades above, and also making for a surer footing. The curly fibres help to hold the infill in place, thereby reducing infill “splash.” This system, when used with an appropriate shock pad, is the perfect football/rugby choice, as proven on numerous pitches over the last 10 years.”
